Got some questions before you download?

Why is the amount in $?

Currently Bitpass only offers their service using dollars and not pounds.  Each track is approximately 65p depending on the exchange rate.  Bitpass have indicated that they are intending to cater for other currencies but haven't said when (!).

How do I set up a Bitpass spender account?

Click on the download button above and you will be given the opportunity to sign in or register for an account.  Choose register for an account and folloe the directions.  You will need to put some money into your Bitpass spender account, which you can do via credit card or by Paypal.  The minimum amount you can open a spender account with is $5 (approximately £2.60).  What you don't spend remains in your account for future purchases.

Why can't I just pay with my credit card or by Paypal without opening a Bitpass account?

Most music download sites are using micro-payment technology.  If you look at Napster and iTunes you will find a similar process in place where you pay into an account before making purchases.  This is because it is not viable to sell items online of such tiny amounts (micro-payments) by credit card or by paypal.  Unfortunately because of the way these methods charge we would have to charge much more for each track.  By using Bitpass we can offer the tracks at a low price - much better for you, the purchaser.

Is it safe and secure?

Absolutely!  Bitpass uses secure technology.  When you click on the download link above you will see a little padlock appear at the bottom, right-hand side of your browser.  This is indication that the page is secure.

Why does it say "For 5 visits within 7 days"?

When you purchase a download you have 7 days or 5 visits in which to download your track.  You will be directed to download the track immediately on purchase but you can come back later to download it as well.  When you purchase a download the colour of the little image to the right of the "download track" will change colour from blue to green.  When its green - if you click on it you will be able to log in and download the track.

What do the different colours mean on the little Bitpass image?

Blue - Indicates that you have not logged in. You must log in before buying an item.
Yellow - Indicates that you are logged in and the price of the item is below your purchase threshold.
Red - Indicates that you are logged in and the price of the item is above your purchase threshold.
Green - Indicates that you are logged in, have already bought the item, and you still have permission to access the premium content.

So, can I buy things elsewhere using my Bitpass account?

Yes, there are a growing number of sites using Bitpass for taking micro-payments.  A full directory is available on the Bitpass website.
